With the mobiles and new culture, hello is gone and hi has come.
Everything seems to be undergoing radical change in this age of globalization and the phone manners just happen to be the latest additions to this ever growing list. a recent survey , based on 2000 phones users in Britain, found that a third of young people aged 18 to 24 admitted to answering such as " hi" " yo" or " ya" instead of the good " hello"
when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876 , he answered it with the greeting " Ahoy-hoy" that was used as a greeting on ship radios at the time.
however, American inventor Thomas Alva Edison did not like the maritime term and invented ' HELLO" which was recorded in the dictionary in 1883.
well, each to his own, shall we say?
